Mobility that lasts: three rules for people who sit all day
Ten minutes of stretching won't undo ten hours of sitting. These three rules make mobility work actually stick.
Stop chasing the stretch
Flexibility you can't control isn't mobility — it's just range you can't use. Instead of passively holding stretches, move into your end range under tension and own it. That's what changes how you move outside the gym.
Hips, mid-back, and shoulders take the worst of desk life. Hit them consistently, with load, and short frequent sessions beat one long Sunday stretch ritual.
Make it part of strength, not a separate chore
The best mobility work is hidden inside your strength training: full-depth squats, controlled presses, loaded carries through long ranges. Train through the range and the range stays.
In the studio, mobility is programmed alongside strength, not bolted on — because joints that move well are joints that stay healthy under load.
